— Midweek Meditations:
thoughts, inspiration and encouragement
from ACF community members —
Don’t Take for Granted
Don’t’ take for granted
Your Faith
For in a turbulent sea
It is the anchor that holds you safe
Don’t take for granted
Your faith community
For in times, you need them most
They are the manifestations of grace
Don’t take for granted
The roof you have over your head
For millions around the world
Have no home of their own
Don’t take for granted
The Medical Assistance you receive
For over half the population of the world
Quality medical access is a distant dream
Don’t take for granted
The Insurance protection you have
For several people across the globe
Paying for health is a nightmare
Don’t take for granted
Your family that cares for you
For millions around us
Loneliness is too hard to cope
Don’t take for granted
The facilities your country offer
For several countries near and far
Citizen’s welfare is not the core
Don’t take for granted
The memories you cherish
For hundreds around us
Memory is evasive and lost
Don’t take for granted
The food you cherish relishing
For millions who strive to exist
Food is hard to find
Don’t take for granted
The clean water you get
For many in the globe around us
Water is hard to find
Don’t take for granted
The seasons and the nature around
For generations far and near
Are struggling with climate change
Don’t take for granted
The pension of allowances you get
There are thousands struggling around
Finding it hard to find a penny
Don’t take for granted
The Accessibility you experience
For the several disabled and fragile ones
Confinement is the only choice
Don’t take for granted
Technology that Zooms us to church
For a majority like us out there
Church is too far away
Don’t take for granted
Your pastors’ regular visits
For many homebound people of faith
The pastor is not just a call away
Don’t take for granted
The people who pray for you
For there are many in the world
Who wishes someone would pray

The ACF Midweek Meditations
are written by a diverse group of our church members with the intention to seek God’s fingerprints in our lives. They range from somber to humorous and are inspired by all facets of live and faith. Written by ordinary people from all walks of life, they reflect a wide range of Christian backgrounds and spiritualities.
Each week’s text portrays the individual viewpoint of its author. They might not always resonate with everyone, and are not meant to be understood as representing the Anglican Church Freiburg as a whole. Yet, as a church that is aiming to ‘Build a Community of Grace’ we seek to practice learning from and listening to one another.
We pray that these humble ponderings add a small spark of blessing to your week.
