Groups & Gatherings

Wise Ones

A gathering of the older ACF members, aged 55+

We meet roughly every month to share lively discussion over coffee or wine & cheese.  Often there is a topic or sometimes a speaker.  All are welcome and new ideas gratefully received.

At the Women’s Breakfast ladies of all ages enjoy a lovely meal, each others company and the wisdom inspiring speakers.

Each month brings something new and dates will vary. The events will be announced through all church communication channels.

Prayer Groups

Women’s Prayer Group
Women of all ages are welcome to join us when we meet monthly on Thursdays, either on zoom or in person at church. Through prayer we seek to deepen our relationship with God as well as strengthen our sense of supporting and caring for one another. Check the church calendar here for our upcoming meeting dates.

Men’s Prayer Group
This group is made up of men that have a heart for praying together – be it thanksgiving for God’s gifts, or interceding for the needs of the world, for people in their own lives, and for each other. Meetings take place every first Wednesday of the month at 7 pm at the vicarage (Ludwigsstr. 6, Freiburg).

Both prayer groups would love to pray for you too! Please get in touch to receive their contact details to send them your prayer requests.

Singing Group

We have a small singing group, open to anyone who enjoys singing, which helps to introduce new songs to our worship. Their performances also enrich special services, like the annual Nine lessons and Carols or on Easter Day.

The Singing Group practices generally every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month at 12:45 pm after the service. All singers are welcome!

Check the church calendar here for our upcoming practice dates.

Shared Lunch

On the second Sunday of every month we enjoy each other’s company over a bring&share buffet after the Sunday Service. These after-church get-togethers have always been a vital part of our church’s life. It’s a low-key, but nevertheless delightful (& delicious!) occasion to connect, to make new friends, to catch up with those we haven’t spoken to for a while and to feast on an always varied and yummy buffet.

Bring some food for the buffet. Anything is great: a home-cooked speciality form your home country or something store-brought. But: If you can’t, for whatever reason, bring any food or your own dishes – don’t despair! We’d still love you to be part of this!!

ACF Weekend Away

Each year we hold an annual church retreat over one weekend. This is one of the highlights of our community life together. Usually the weekend away takes place over the Ascension Day weekend (Himmelfahrtswochenende).

Monitor our news page for announcements of the next Weekend Away.

Home Communion

Our Chaplain Rev’ Vinod Victor is more than happy to have home visits with those interested, especially the elderly or sick, and will also celebrate home eucharist with those who wish to do so.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like a pastoral visit!
